Preferred course of action if having possible covid symptoms
Preferred course of action if having possible covid symptoms
Longtime lurker here with a question and I thought this would be the place to ask.
What should a person do if having mild respiratory symptoms a mild fever? I can self isolate that isn’t a problem.
I’d actually like to see a doctor but don’t want to set off a chain of events resulting in me being forced into govt quarantine for something that will probably resolve on it’s own.
Thanks

What would you honestly do in your own country?
Always "hope" but never "expect".
Re: Preferred course of action if having possible covid symptoms
See a doctor. Preferably one who at least knows what Wikipedia is.
There is a mild flu going around now, you don’t want to spread that, or anything else.
Take care, protect yourself and others.

Like any illness, I'd rest up, drink plenty of water, and take some paracetemol. Stay home and see how it plays out. If you have a bad fever, can't breathe, or other worrying symptoms, then see a doctor.
Best of luck.

1) Isolate
2) arrange for a test and let people you have been in contact with recently know if you test positive
3) if you live alone try to get a friend to call you every now and then to check on you (some people with covid can start to feel a lot better then suddenly deteriorate)
4) if you feel you need to see a doctor, try to call ahead to see if they have any procedures in place for covid/suspected covid patients
5) ask a friend to do any shopping for you
6) if you need to go for a test or to see a doctor make sure you wear an appropriate face covering and avoid people as best as you can
Rest up and get well soon. Don't take any chances and don't put others at risk.

Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: Preferred course of action if having possible covid symptoms
paracetamol is an antipyretic drug it lowers body temperature... a fever is your immune system fighting an infection DR John Campbell on youtube ( he has been teaching nurses for many decades,,he has daily updates on the Covid situation) ....says you should avoid taking paracetamol if you have a fever to let your immune system do its work.... or words to that effect any how.
best of luck

Re: Preferred course of action if having possible covid symptoms
If I was back in Canada I would get tested and then I could just isolate at home if positive or follow my doctor’s advice. I don’t want to do that here though because I hear they hospitalize anyone who tests positive.
Actually I met a guy Saturday night who said you get hospitalized for at least three weeks, because after two weeks they test you twice three days apart and you need two negative tests to get out. He might have been wrong though.
If I’m not better in a few days I will think about going to a doctor but I thought some doctors don’t want you to come in for this. Can anyone recommend a doctor who will see me for this?

^true...everyone who tests positive is hospitalised until at least 2 negative test results achieved.

Stay at home until you feel better is the obvious move. It won't kill ya
