Drunk Man Drowns in Fishpond at Kratie Wedding

Cambodia News, (Kratie Province): There was an unfortunate incident when a drunk man fell into a fish pond and drowned at about 1 am on March 5, 2021, at Chroy Sneng Krabey Krom village, Kampong Kor commune, Prek Prosop district, Kratie province.

The victim was identified as Sanh Tith, a 25-year-old man with a mental illness living in the commune. The victim was attending a wedding in the village, and he had been drinking heavily when he went out the back in the dark to relieve himself. There were a number of ponds for raising fish, and the deceased must have slipped and fallen into the pond, but nobody saw the accident when it happened, and by the time somebody saw the body, the man had drowned.

The police were called and confirmed that the deceased died from drowning while drunk.
Relatives have taken away the body for funeral services.
