That's because it's Type 2 Diabetes that is most prevalent in Cambodia, this requires changes in eating habits. White steamed rice is not advised but try telling any local they can't eat their staple diet. Type 1 is the one that requires insulin injections.daeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 10:44 pm Diabetes is very common in Cambodia but from what I can see here people almost never use insulin injections, they usually take a pill.

Check a Google search "Do people with type 2 diabetes require insulin injections?"John Bingham wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:47 pmThat's because it's Type 2 Diabetes that is most prevalent in Cambodia, this requires changes in eating habits. It may be that there is some variation in the way doctors are taught, about the recommended treatment for a person with Type 2 diabetes. Cambodian doctors may be influenced by French tradition?
Totally agree about white rice, but now there's also the problem with these "energy" drinks like red bull.

I don't know, I know quite a few Cambodian diabetics though and they don't take insulin.daeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 12:24 amCheck a Google search "Do people with type 2 diabetes require insulin injections?"John Bingham wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:47 pmThat's because it's Type 2 Diabetes that is most prevalent in Cambodia, this requires changes in eating habits.
