According to the day shift supervisor at the apartment building, the victim has been renting the room above since October 31, 2019. She says: "From the day I came to work, I saw this foreigner staying alone for a few days, usually seeing him come down to buy groceries and stay in the room.
From time to time he came down to the gym, but he used to tell me "he has leg pain". Since February 27, 2021, during the day, I did not see him come down to the gym and shop as usual.
Then, on March 1, 2021, at 9am, after not seeing the American for several days, I and the owner of the location went up to the 6th floor to the man's room, then the owner took the key to open the door, and we saw that the occupant had passed away in his room. The owner then called the authorities."
O'Connor was living in Cambodia on a retirement visa.
