Russian Attacked After Throwing Bottle at Tandoor Restaurant

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): A Cambodian restaurant worker attacked an unidentified Russian man at The Tandoor restaurant, after the Russian threw a bottle of beer through the glass door in front of the restaurant.

Psar Kandal 1 police reported that a 26-year-old man, Kim San, a worker at The Tandoor restaurant, used a chain to attack a foreigner, an unidentified Russian man, who was seriously injured. His friend took him to Calmette Hospital for threatment.

The source said that on February 25, 2021, at 04:40 am, the Russian 'victim' took a bottle of beer to throw at The Tandoor restaurant, damaging a glass door. So then, the suspect took a chain to attack the victim, causing him to get wounded on the head.

The police went to the scene to arrest the suspect immediately. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

I know the place on-a-daily-basis well, and the "chain-wielder" is a lovely, unassuming guy, whom is actually a cleaner for the accommodation. He also works nights, as security, and will be praised, accordingly, for loyalty (with a recommendation he eases up on the vigilantism), as he was obviously stirred from his sleep, and in shock. One could also argue, he thought it his duty to apprehend the offending, possibly dangerous, weaponmonger. He will be ok. The Russian on the other hand, has some explaining to do...

It's not the first time that staff and customers/passers by have had fisticuffs at that place, If my memory serves me right

Sure, the idiot Russian may have destroyed property but in the eyes of the law attacking a person with a deadly weapon is seen as a larger offense. Hopefully they can resolve this situation.

I assume in Russia its perfectly acceptable to throw bottles through peoples windows then ?

If caught, I would expect the idiot to get a good kicking in most countries, apart from Russia of course

The guy was just drunk, not sure he should be beaten with chains. He must pay for the damage of course.

Throwing bottles at windows is extremely dangerous and could easily blind someone so I'm not surprised the guy reacted. He should have just bludgeoned him with a plastic baton though.
