Chinese editor to be deported to China for publishing exaggerated news on vaccines

The editor in chief of the Chinese language online news Angkor Today has been ordered deported after he published an article, saying Cambodia sells China-aided COVID-19 vaccines.

According to a directive issued today by Interior Minister Sar Kheng, the Chinese editor-in-chief Shen Kaidong was ordered to be expelled and barred from re-entering Cambodia.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Khieu Kanharith also issued a directive revoking the license of Angkor Today because the owner Ung Kongkea published exaggerated news on Wechat which affected public health and caused national chaos and insecurity.

Shen was arrested yesterday in Siem Reap city where his online news outlet is based and was sent to the General Department of Immigration of the Interior Ministry to be deported to China.

His arrest was made after Health Ministry spokeswoman Or Vandine denied the publication of Angkor Today and called on the authorities to take legal action against it.

The Chinese embassy also said that according to their understanding of the situation, the Cambodian government and military store the vaccines and that there was no way it could have slipped through to the open market. It said any messages proposing to have the vaccine are fake

There is no way the military or the government would skim a few cases off the top to sell to the highest bidder.
These people always uphold good honour of Cambodia and would never stoop so low as to make money in a crisis!

They should tar and feather this guy before they deport him!

Hear hear..... he should show respect and understand that he is defaming hard working people with his unsubstantiated lies.

The security on these precious gifts would be extremely heavy and the honesty of those in charge are beyond reproach.

Free speech is not for telling lies.

I have not read this( i don’t like to read much ) :

https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/4136005

this Chinese vaccine is probably what Cambodians are going to get. Besides it having a low rate of prevention it has a high rate of side effects, as many as 70.
I would wait for something from Taiwan or South Korea. Or maybe see if i can get it from the VA in the Philippines.
