Mondulkiri Woman Beats Drunk Husband to Death

Cambodia News, (Mondulkiri): According to the Ministry of Interior's social media page, on Tuesday,23 February, 2021, a murder was committed when a 42-year-old woman killed her husband at Putil village, Busra commune, Pichreada district, Mondulkiri province.

The husband's name is Ken Kel, a 49 year old farmer, ethnic Khmer. The wife, Phan Neang, 42, also a Cambodian farmer, was living with the victim at the time of the murder.

According to the wife, the man was drunk and caused a quarrel until a fight broke out that was so bad that the woman could not stand it any more, and she jumped on the victim and used a stick to beat him to death.

After the murder, the wife took a motorcycle with her daughter to escape.

Immediately after receiving the above information, the police force of Pechrea District Police Inspectorate cooperated with the technical and scientific police force as well as the force of the Bureau of Serious Crimes of the Provincial Police to search the scene and examine the body, and confirmed that there were marks, consistant with a beating, found on the neck and on the back.

After escaping for less than a few hours, the woman was arrested by the police, and she confessed that she beat her husband to death because he was cruel to her.
