Yet another quarantine escapee nabbed in Pursat
A Cambodian man has been arrested in Pursat while trying to escape from quarantine in Phnom Penh after it was found out that he had been in contact with a COVID-19 patient.
The senseless man was identified as Muon Sophorn, 35. He was arrested today by the police in Pursat’s Domnak Ampil Krom Village.
According the police, about three days, Sophorn was found to have been in contact with a COVID-19 patient, but instead of going for testing and putting himself into quarantine, he left Phnom Penh for Pursat.
The police added in the past few days, Sophorn has been to numerous places including Nokor Meas Guest House, Lav Siev Eng Restaurant, a local barber shop, Somneang Soksan Restaurant, and many others. Those place have been temporarily closed by the authorities, who are now tracing more places as well as the people who have been directly and indirectly in contact with the escapee.
So far, four people, including two motodup drivers who gave him rides, have been detained by the police and sent for testing for COVID-19 and quarantine centre.
According to a decree issued by the government, Sophorn can faced up to 5 million riels ($1,250) for the escaping the quarantine. However, if it is found out he is COVID-19 positive and already passed the virus to the others, he could face up to three years in prison and a fine of 10 million riels ($2,500), according to the newly-promulgated law on “Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 and other Deadly and Serious Infectious Diseases”.

...Nokor Meas Guest House, Lav Siev Eng Restaurant, a local barber shop, Somneang Soksan Restaurant, and many others. Those place have been temporarily closed by the authorities,
Plus the various Tuks as well.
This guy, named and photographed, is now responsible for the serious economic loss of many business'. That's likely to run into the many thousands of dollars if they are closed for the usual 14-28 days.
Sooner or later one of these business' that have been screwed by a selfish prick like this guy will seek compensation or revenge. People kill each other here for just talking to the wrong girl. Bringing their business to it's knees is more than enough motivation to sharpen the family machete. A good public hacking to death will promote strict quarantine observance far better than any security guards sitting outside, asleep on their chairs.
The government should make full economic redress part of the punishment for breaching quarantine. That will make them think twice.

Trickery at Ganesh Male Massage Services in Phnom Penh
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): In the past few hours, the experts of the Sub-Committee on Covid-19 have called on members of the public to come forward without shame if they received massage services by men at "GANESH", or if they called male massage staff to provide services outside from March 1 to 15, 2021.
The GANESH massage shop is located at 22Z, Street 420, Village 4, Sangkat Boeung Trabek, Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.
The Phnom Penh Capital Administration has found that 7 out of 9 employees of Ganesh massage business took bribes in connection with the February 20 community event, after there was a positive Covid-19 test result on the premises. Local authorities and officials have already closed the location of Mr. Nuon Vy, the owner of the business, but he still made it possible for his staff to continue the massage business to clients by making appointments at other locations, using telephone and other social media, which is contrary to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
Please isolate yourself, or if you feel unwell or have any doubts, please hurry to get tested for Covid 19 virus at Bak Touk High School, Boeung Trabek High School, Chak Angre Health Center, Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital or at referral hospitals in Provinces for free.

Hacking to death??? Doc, don't PANIC (oh, that was from another thread). A few weeks ago you were warning against rumors and there was no way any of your daily hangouts (Harry's and Larry's and whatever else rhymes) would ever be affected. Now you want death to the miscreants. Just go buy a microwave and eat at home for once.Doc67 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 9:12 am...Nokor Meas Guest House, Lav Siev Eng Restaurant, a local barber shop, Somneang Soksan Restaurant, and many others. I read doc’s comments as observations on his part, and certainly not with any panic. The only comment expressing his opinion on what should happen as a result involves financial penalties, not violence. I’ve highlighted it for you. Only you know why you might want to launch a keyboard attack on another poster, but it would probably lend some credibility to your opinion if your comprehension was a bit more accurate.Cambo swa wrote: Hacking to death??? OK daddy, you consider that an attack? That's precious. Need a hug? Or maybe I can make a reservation for you at Ganesh Male Massage? Anyway, here it is from your buddy:Freightdog wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 4:43 amThis guy, named and photographed, is now responsible for the serious economic loss of many business'. I don't remember saying that these bars would be immune. Refresh my memory.
For the avoidance of doubt for the rest of it, I did not promote the ide of a hacking to death (not for this crime at least).
I am suggesting that sooner or later, the chances of violent reprisals for substantial economic loss is going to rear it's head, especially if the authorities continue to name and publish pictures of the offenders. This is clearly done for public shaming purposes, but it also paints a target on their back too.
To reduce this risk of mob justice, the government should be proactive and make consequential loss recoverable from the absconding party. Whether this is enforceable in full is unlikely, but a good blast of asset striping of some spoilt brat with a BMW, in the full glare of social media, might send the message loud and clear - quarantine is better than losing all your stuff.
As for your other erroneous assertions; I do own a microwave, I eat at home 95%+ of the time - (Harry's super fantastic value Sunday Lunch* being the only regular exception to this) - I enjoy a good rumour as much as the next guy - and I never PANIC.
