11 Chinese Nationals stopped while trying to cross from Sihanoukville to Kampot

Kampot Provincial Police have said that at 9am today, the Police Inspectorate of Chhouk District, Kampot Province stopped a silver sedan with Phnom Penh license plates in Ang Khlai village, Tra Meng commune, Chhouk district.
Inside the vehicle were 11 Chinese nationals who were attempting to cross interprovincial boundaries by crossing from Sihanoukville to Kampot province through Techo Aphivath commune, Chhuk district, Kampot province, in direct contravention of Royal Government’s ban.
The Kampot Provincial Police have sent them to the Kampot Provincial Court for legal proceedings.

Cambodia News (Kampot): On April 20, 2021, at 9am, according to the order of lieutenant Mao Chanmethoreth, the Kampot police chief, the police force stopped a van plate no. PP2AH-0465, that was transporting 11 Chinese men, on national road 4, in Chouk district, from the direction of Sihanoukville toward Kampot.
The immigration police are proceeding following the legal procedure.

Desperado Smashes Through Lockdown Controlpoint
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): A military officer was arrested after driving a motorbike to smash through a lockdown control area, and beating a police officer on April 20, 2021, in Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh.
The suspect, Keav Thansopheaktra, 31 years old, a military officer, was arrested for driving a motorbike hitting the lockdown control. He also injured and insulted the local police. The suspect was sent to Khan Chroy Changvar police station for questioning.

^^ According to a later report, the driver of the van ran away, and the Chinese escapees were attempting to go to Phnom Penh.

The officer has reportedly been suffering from medical (mental) problems for some time and is receiving treatment.
