Cambodia News, (Siem Reap): Siem Reap City Police Inspectorate arrested one suspect, Phou Vuthy, male, 28 years old, car mechanic, currently living in Thlok Andong Village, Siem Reap, charged with theft and illegal use of drugs, on February 17, 2021.

Mr. Pheng Chendareth, Deputy Commissioner for Criminal Affairs, said that the theft occurred on February 16, 2021, in front of the Klasor car parts store in Thlok Andong village, Slor Kram commune, Siem Reap province.

The victim, Chhay Rattan, 21 years old, drove a 2005 Toyota Tacoma, with license plate number Siem Reap 2C-1975, and stopped at the shop to buy car parts without removing the keys from the car. Suddenly, the suspect, Phu Vuthy, got into the car and started the car and drove away along National Road 6 to the east.

The victim called a nearby motodup to chase after his car. After the suspect was about 300 meters to the entrance to Tram Neak pagoda in Thlok Andong village, he managed to stop the car that the suspect was driving and immediately called the police.

After questioning, the suspect could not answer to the authorities because he had been taking drugs.He will be sent to Siem Reap provincial court.

The thief was also a wannabe gangsta lad.


He is being charged with car theft and using methamphetamine.

I always thought those types of cars were compensating for something.
