14Yo Monk Drowns in Kulen Mountain Waterfall
RIP
Cambodia News (Siem Reap): On February 7, 2021, at 12:40 pm, a drowning accident occurred on Kulen mountain in Svay Leu village, Siem Reap. Police reported that monks and a group of people from Andeuk pagoda, Battambang, came to worship and visit the mountain.
50 monks went into the waterfall on its third floor. They then got out of the water and went to the second floor. That's when they discovered that Yoeun Sophon, a 14-year-old monk, was missing. People went to find him, but he had drowned.
The body was sent to the monk chief for preparation for the funeral after the police examined the body at the scene.
