Yes this is so sad.
I don't know if there are psychiatric services available for new mothers who are not coping, but this is in the Cambodian provinces, so I suppose not. The poor woman must have been out of her mind with nobody to help her.
Hope that this all turns out ok somehow, but I'm afraid that the woman will be put in jail and her baby will suffer anyway.
Re: Mother Stabbed Her 3-Month-Old Baby
There is a desperate need for effective mental health services in Cambodia. I hope that the mother is offered the help she needs, can make a recovery and is deemed safe enough to care for her baby again.

Hope on. She'll be stuck in the provincial prison like anyone else and if she misbehaves she'll get battered and chained up.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I initially ended my post with '...but I fear the easiest option will be taken with her being thrown in jail and the baby thrown in some obscure orphanage.' but it was just too depressing to post so decided to delete it.John Bingham wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:22 amHope on. I bet the Father ditched her and she lashed out on the baby.
