ASEAN discuss way to revitalise tourism

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

ASEAN discuss way to revitalise tourism

Post by phuketrichard »

do they read the news?

The ONLY way to revitalize the tourism industry in Cambodia is allow TOURISTS into Cambodia>>>
there are not enough khmers to make domestic tourism worthwhile
Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism led the 53rd meeting of the ASEAN National Tourism Organisations to discuss plans for introducing the ASEAN tourism recovery strategy and post-crisis recovery plans due in late March.

the tourism ministry said that in order for the ASEAN tourism sector to recover, measures were needed to attract tourists to the region and member nations were assembled to discuss plans.

Issuing tourist visas would be a start,.. :beer1:
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Or just annex Cambodia, as they did Tibet, and shove the indigenous folk out of the way in favour of concreting over the rest the coastline.

Out of interest- given the slightly variable state of roadworks on the really important highways- will the new roads be capable of supporting main battle tanks? Otherwise, the average tourist might still be restricted to Lexus 300, of which there may be insufficient concrete road deciders** to satisfy demand.

*sorry to thread wobble- I’ve had a beer.
**somehow changed from dividers, but actually seems appropriate when related to Chinese drivers.

^^^
I wouldn't expect anything better coming out of Hackney. Not too worry though, they are all much too busy stabbing and shooting each other to travel to Cambodia.
