Crispy Aromatic Duck
Crispy Aromatic Duck
I have a hankering for some of this old favourite, but can't remember seeing it anywhere. Is it a real Chinese thing or just a bit of western faking for local tastes? I have no desire to go into a Chinese restaurant, I'd much prefer to make it at home.
I used to buy frozen ones from Makro in the UK, which included a whole duck, pancakes and sauce - just add onions and cucumber, but that might be asking a bit much.
So, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm not buying anything from those roadside places. I want it frozen, in a box, and with a nice glossy picture on it.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:56 amYeah, Doc ^^ but don't take your gun.
It'll be murder or suicide, one of the two.
I am thinking maybe Bayon might have some...

Definitely do your own if you want food to enjoy! I had it on 3 occasions, SHV, PP and SR from Chinese resto cafes. Just a pile of bones with skin on!. Not enough meat to keep my cat alive! I'm sure someone could recommend a good specific place I might give it another go.

Duck be nasty no matter how you slice it. Furthermore, Cambodians be overcookin' it and sheet!

Re: Crispy Aromatic Duck
to get a good BBQ/roasted duck it needs to be fed well (i.e. corn fed) before beeing cooked . The ones you get alive at the cambodian markets will be disappointing. Skin and bones only after roasting. Thats what the asian like most. Crispy skin and chewing bones.
work is for people who cant find truffles
