Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Siem Reap or Kampot based removals firm?

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Siem Reap or Kampot based removals firm?

Post by Buddhasmafia »

Hi, Expats,

My wife & I are [ideally] moving to Kampot this week, but our contractor let us down. Now we're in the sh*t . Our lease expired as of today, however our landlady has agreed to extend our ability to stay here until the 4th Feb.

After that we need to vacate the villa so she can clean it & show prospective tenants through. We don't want to inconvenience or negatively affect our landlady- she's been very good to us both.

She has allowed us store our belongings here after vacating the building itself, but we can only leave them outside & have many valuables. Although the property is pretty secure, let's not forget where we are.

Can anyone recommend a Siem Reap, or Kampot based moving firm, capable of quickly handing a well packed 4.5- 5 cubic metre load to be relocated to Kampot from Wat Bo, Siem Reap, on a small-medium truck, and who can do so quickly? It's a pretty obviously pretty urgent situation & is slipping sideways fast.

I've previously managed a removals firm myself & have prepared & packed our goods appropriately- it'll be a straightforward job; all I need is a medium sized truck & driver who is prepared to help load the truck.

Thanks in advance,
Steve.

Then catch the right-size truck when you see it in the streets, wave some dollar bills, and prepare to load and sit next to the driver until arriving in Kampot, quick and cheap. Just be aware of probable potholes here and there. Better following your stuff closely, no ?

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I believe the trucks for rent have moved over across from where the crocodile farm used to be (just on the left if your driving out of town towards the ring road).

I have a driver we've used a few times if your still looking for someone but I'm not sure I have his # around as we just go find him when necessary (he used to be down by the temple near the end of Wat Bo road). IF your still looking drop me a note and I'll see if we can find his card tonight.

If you go over to find a truck just ask that they have ropes/cables/tarps - most do but best to ask. To Kampot I'd expect you'll be paying at least $200 plus something for however much work is involved loading/unloading.
