Two private companies – Cambodian Gome Farm Food Co., Ltd. and Continent Crown Investment Management Co., Ltd. – have just received green light from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) for their investment projects.

According to a CDC’s press release issued this morning, the first company will invest US$6.5 million in the creation of mango processing factory, while the second will inject US$79 million for the construction of four-star hotel of 275 rooms.

The two newly-approved projects, to be located in Samrong Tong district of Kampong Speu province and Khan Pursenchey of Phnom Penh capital, are expected to create some 1,178 jobs for the locals, it added.

Such investment amid the COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic.
