new route to Cambodia from Europe

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

A new option of travelling from Europe to Cambodia may be an interesting option. Lets see what city in India (Kalkutta beeing an intersting place for a stopover) will be connected to PP or SR..or both?

Calcutta is a really cool city, spent lots of time there in the 80's-90's
only problem is once you start letting Indians fly direct.
well than ya got more Indians :-)

As long as it isn’t Delhi. It’s at the lower end of my list of places for a connecting flight.

I wouldn't get too excited. They've been talking about direct flights for years. And that was in the 'good old days' of travel.
Every time an ambassador meets with the Minister of Tourism they talk about flights. Last time it was with Nepal. Next week probably Paraguay. The only problem is that airlines are not consulted before they make these public announcements. Minor detail...

Cambodia would have rocks in its head if they don't shoot to pick up a big slice of the billions of Indian outbounds that will be taking off in the next few years.

imo. They would flock here.

Unless the Indians get a simpler visa process going I don't see stopovers being anything other than a few hours changing terminals.
Calcutta/Kalkutta
