Thailands new queen

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

The reporter who broke this story doesn't have the best reputation but it is looking more and more like this sensational story may have been accurate.

Just how much idiocy and slavish conformity to the concept of monarchy can the Thai people put up with?

Personally and also talking with Thai's
they dont care for Him, but they respect the institution..

Same goes for when you wai a monk,. ur not wai'ing, ( is this a word?) the person but the robes and institution.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Yes, but he embodies the institution. He is what you get with the strict adherence to the hereditary principle. He is the institution and for many years to come.

Sooner or later, monarchs like him destroy the institution.

120 years ago powerful, and seemingly unchallengeable, monarchies where the norm. Now they are the exception. This guy, and other previous rogue monarchs, are the reason why.

It may be related to the lack of an appropriate heir apparent as the only prince in line is his autistic son.

If Koi is pregnant with a boy or can produce an male heir, then she will need to be elevated to queen so that the son can inherit the throne. However, someone has mentioned that R. X had a vasectomy(?), which if true, would complicate matters. Additionally, the main two princesses are apparently unmarried.

All in all, it may just be about trying to save the dynasty.
