Look what I ate today!

Post by rozzieoz »

We were dropping our laundry at the laundromat this morning and the lady offered us one of these. She was very chuffed that we ate one each.
It was crunchy with the taste of spicy soy. The thought of it creeped me out but it certainly wasn't disgusting. I'm really glad I tried it

Those are the only insects I like.

Try the spiders next. I'd pass on the critters that look like beetles. :bad:

Tried that - can't do it. My mouth says it's good, my mind says it's maggots.

Jomrett. They're pretty tasty and nutritious- as long as they haven't been fried too much. Especially the really big ones they get in Kampong Thom. If you think they're bad try the black water beetles that GM mentioned.

Worst I have ever tried. Just couldn't stomach them. Everything else I have been fine with.

A number of years ago some sellers died in Bangkok because they eat many of their own product. It seems the people that gather these insects were killing them with bug killer to make it easy to harvest them. Bon Appetit!
