The victim was identified as Ly Soklay, a 62-year-old man, a seller. The prime suspect has been named as Thach Leng, a 33-year-old Vietnamese man.
Before the incident, the warehouse owner locked the warehouse and went home, when two suspects, Thach Leng and Eng Sienghab, rode a bicycle and stopped in front of the warehouse. Then, they used a stick to break the lock, and they stole a Hik Vision security camera, 5 laptops, 1 iPad, 1 USB, 1 JBL speaker.
After that, they took 2 monitors to sell at a shop in Soriya Mall area for $US470 to buy drugs. The other equipment was left with Eng Sienghab.
On January 18, 2021, at 4:30 pm, the police arrested Thach Leng in Sangkat Chbar Ampov and confiscated a bicycle. The suspect was sent to Khan Chbar Ampov police station following the legal procedure. He was already sentenced to jail for 5 years in 2015 on charges of theft.

Kampot Burglary. Most of it is Drug Related.
The Andong Khmer/Tedab Communes starting just behind the Concrete Bridge on NR 3 also called "Intl.Village" by some Real Estate Agent and "Kmaut Jao" meaning the Ghost of the Thief prior to the start of Barangs moving in by locals from Kampot had little to no thefts at all during recent years. BUT, times are changing and with Covid19 around some people become Creative.
One of my american neigbors had it's pressure washer and lawnmower stolen a few day's ago. Main suspects are some workers that he had for a week and than left. It may have not been one of them though because all of them went for a drink after work and mingled with some local "unemployed" kids that sit and drink there every night till midnight and beyond. Simply by listening in to the conversation they pretty much know all the details. We'll probably never know BUT local Police here often is much more clever than meets the eye and get their info through the same BushRadio than the culprits and therefore often capture them after a relative short time.

The article has its districts mixed up. Sangkat Chbar Ampov is in Khan Chbar Ampov, it used to be part of Meanchey district but was never Chamkarmorn.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 9:28 pm

Silence, exile, and cunning.
