Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On January 18, 2021, at 1:30 pm, a man was arrested after sending a menacing voice message to his female co-worker, threatening to kill her, and saying that he will share a pornographic video of her on social media.

According to the report, on January 17, 2021, the suspect, Seoung Saron, also called Rech Sovannareach, 28 years old, a worker in a company that sends workers to Japan, called the victim,and threatened to share pornography of him and her when they had sex together in 2020. He also threatened to kill her and insulted her, because she was hanging out with a new man in Takeo.

It seems that in mid December 2020, the victim visited the suspect's house in Kampong Cham, where he raped her and took a video while they have sex. After that, the suspect threatened the victim that if she filed a complaint against him, he would share that video on social media.
The suspect then asked the victim to buy him a PCX motorbike and and to give him $US2,500. The victim was scared and embarrassed, so she bought him a motorbike. But when the man threatened her again, she decided to file a complaint at the police station asking for help.

The suspect confessed that he had insulted and threatened the victim based on the evidence of the voice message. On January 19, the suspect was sent to the court on charges of blackmail and intimidation with threats of violence.
