Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News (Phnom Pen): According to General Lieutenant Van Penh, the deputy chief of the Secretariat of the Anti-Counterfeiting Products Committee, on January 16, 2021, the raid team and the relevant authorities confiscated e-cigarettes and equipment for vaping at two places in Khan Chamkarmorn, Phnom Penh.

Recently, e-cigarettes have been advertised on social media as the equipment for quitting cigarettes, but it is not true. Although this product does not contain the drug substance, it was listed in the Appendix of the Drug Control Act, because it does contain high levels of synthetic nicotine, which can cause serious health risks, such as lung cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, respiratory disease, heart disease, and kidney disease.

E-cigarettes and vaping kits are sold secretly on the Cambodia black market.

Vaping is more harmful than cigarettes if the product is mixed with drugs or arousal medicine. [People believe] that Shisha and E-cigarettes are a new drug that harms Cambodian youth and their future.

"Sold secretly on the black market"....haha, there are dozens of sellers advertising all over facebook, and they arrange to meet buyers, not exactly difficult to bust them.

I love how they are still towing the line that vapes and shisha lead to hard drug use amongst youth... they should focus all their energy on trying to bust the meth kingpins and rings.
