NKOTB & his Khmer Missus adventures in Texas

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Thanks, I find those hair-bands really work well for tying up Pangolins.

Hair bands that fit missus’ head.

 Be careful ,they only work for the Cambodian pangolins, because those vicious-looking spikes can be deadly for the other sorts of pangolins.
Could be useful for trapping baby elephants.

Missus is getting darker by staying at home.

Keeping her skin moisturized with a honeydew facial wrap. Slices of honeydew melon wrapped around her face.

Her first attempt at making burgers.

Image

Image

With coleslaw and dressing as side dish, as well as cucumbers. And cucumbers picked with salt and sugar.

Image

Her first time at burger assembly.
Stick a chopstick in it and it’s done. The chopstick to keep it from falling apart.

Image

Showing her how to assemble a proper cheeseburger. Slice of Pepper Jack at the bottom.
Yellow Mustard, Ketchup, on the top bun.

Image

After going through the history of the burger and how it swept through America, and how wonderful tasting is this quintessential American food, missus tells me she has had burgers before ... in Cambodia

Missus found the yellow powder to make Banh Cheav. As per cooking tradition, powder spread is everywhere during the process. Clothes, couch, floor, etc.

Image

Finished product is a darker yellow color. Probably because the powder is from Vietnam.

Image

Still a delicious lunch.

Stay safe out there!

It's just rice flour and tumeric (sometimes tapioca starch too)

No need to go searching for it, can make it easily enough yourself

Happy Cambodian New Year.

Went to the temple for blessing.

Image

Missus brought food offerings for the monks as well as flowers.

Image

Holy candle wax fell on her. She got super blessing per monk.

Image

In attendance were 3 monks, 1 partially blind, 1 playing on his phone while chanting, and maybe a dozen attendees at most. Me and missus were the youngest. Everyone else was retirement age or older.

Image

But boy, can they cook.

Image

Please be safe out there everyone.

And here’s prayers to Buddha that the coming here will be better.

Other members have requested that I keep updates on this thread (post #19).

Unless YOU believe you are more important than other members of CEO.

Anyways, new formal, tailor made blouse (that goes with the Sampot, and fits missus precisely) only available in Cambodia.

The red candle wax pretty much ruined it.
