Burning Candle During Power Cut Causes House Fire
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A fire burned an apartment when the homeowner's daughter burned a candle because there was a power cut.
This incident happened at 9: 50 am on 14 January 2021 at Dongkor district, Phnom Penh. The house that was burned by fire is a shophouse belonging to Kheng Saree, a 39-year-old police officer.
According to the news, before the accident, the electricity was out and the house above was dark, so the daughter of the house burnt a candle and she left her little brother to watch it. However, the candle fell on the mattress and caused a fire.
The neighbor took a fire extinguisher to put the fire out and called the fire brigade, but the fire was out before they arrived. Fortunately nobody was harmed, but there was material damage to the room and the furnishings.
