Patient Complains About Lack of Covid-19 Precautions in Calmette Hospital

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Calmette does their best to separate patients and demand the wearing of muzzles as a condition of entry. All ridiculous in a country where there is no coronavirus but there it is. They are in a difficult situation as they are swamped with patients every day and do their best to comply with government requirements as well as provide service to everybody. I have always found their service to be excellent.

The only reprehensible thing they do is to deny entry to anyone with a fever. Consequently if you have Dengue Fever, Typhoid Fever, or any other of hundreds of diseases you are plumb out of luck.
It's not that you can't get medical care or go to the hospital if you have a fever. If you have a fever they only want you at certain hospitals around town. This way, if you do have Covid, you don't spread it around as much. I know this because I had Typhoid with a fever and still had no problem receiving care.

Who are "they"? I am assuming you mean the authorities. If so, where is the official announcement that some hospitals will refuse treatments to patients and the names of the hospitals that will accept patients with a fever.
