Well Yobbo, it's not in Oz, or California, or Greece, or the in Amazon any more
NObody has proved to be competent in dealing with all the climate change predictions just now coming true.
(Sorry, 'had to throw that in it's my job. Carry on)

@SternAAlbifrons : Thanks for the advice. I don't consider myself SAVY i am just travelling and am a guest in Cambodia.
I simply worry for the Khmer and the world they will have to face in the short future.
Kampot still has all the ingredients to be a top tourist destination BUT not for long anymore if they destroy the main Tourist attraction just so some ignorant idiot can grow Bananas. I have no means to follow this Mother Nature narcistic creep Davidson who did'nt have to face the music he created but left many locals in deep problems. I hope they will ban him forever.
My country was/is not different than Cambodia today. Most of our Alpine Mountains are now Ski Slopes and Nature / Wildlife pretty much destroyed.
In my last place of residence it looked even worse:
https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/20/us/flint ... index.html . The Waterpollution was so severe that residents in flint , michigan could'nt drink their lead contaminated water for many years.
Which will bring me to my next topic which concerns all of us wherever we are: How long do you give Humanity...? See new thread.

The times are a changing though I think the competent fire brigade would probably have full view from the casino!
ST...Don't think me to be cynical!

Sorry, i think i misjudged your intentions. I thought you wanted to make a difference.
Sorry AngryBird, I don't buy that "simply worry for the Khmer". It seems to me you just want to have a good rant.
As for Alex at least. Yeah i agree, you're not savvy at all.
The instant judgement of the opinionated tourist shouted out loud.
Clueless.
'Bye, where are you spreading the joy to next?

How to keep warm in Kampot during the Cold Spell:
At the going rate the fires /smoke will soon arrive at the Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital and Bokor Mountain Park Entrance, soon.

To add some clarity.emm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 8:19 pm In my last place of residence it looked even worse:

The water itself wasn’t and isn’t where the lead pollution came from but from the ageing iron, lead and copper pipes. Because of the high chloride content in the Flint river water it leached into the pipes and caused lead poisoning, and legionaries disease.
The Flint authorities also didn’t put inhibitors into the water, to reduce corrosion, unlike the Detroit water authority where they previously got their supply from.
So the water in the Flint river isn't and wasn’t contaminated by any human activity. It just has naturally high Chloride content.
Don’t listen to Chinese whispers.
Re: HELP - FIRE is Killing Kampot's Bokor Mountain
Yesterday Jan. 12, 2021 the fires went all the way up to the top of the mountain. Strong winds supported the unbelievable destruction which looks like it is caused by a single person and burned throughout the night. You can almost count on it. Fire goes up at one spot, little later further up and up and than nothing for an hour and than at another spot further right.
Re: HELP - FIRE is Killing Kampot's Bokor Mountain
There have been photos posted on FB for a few days now in many groups - some 500+ likes or comments -lo and behold yesterday the fire dept and police put up a post of them fighting the fires. Surprise surprise the last 2 days all fires have stopped. I counted 25 fires 2 nights ago. Round past Sonya Kill was a huge fire. Some have complained that the Veal Pouch waterfall area has been burnt completely and possibly 3 resorts are going ahead there. NO FIRE ON JAN 14.2021 !!
That's the FIRST DAY in many month without fire, at least at the slopes facing Andong Khmer, Tedab Village and the Slopes facing Kampot City.
The Power of FACEBOOK ?
