Legit place to buy a suitcase in Phnom Penh?
Re: Legit place to buy a suitcase in Phnom Penh?
The luggage sold at Central Mall/Travel Hub is all legitimate...but pricey. They were even stocking Pelican Cases at one stage.aem wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 4:42 pmSo you think the stuff they sell at Central Mall/Travel Hub is not legit? There is a Rimowa store in Vattanac tower but those are definitely out of my price range.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 2:41 pm Your only choices as far as I know are original Samsonite for a hefty tag, or copies everywhere else.

I am happy to pay the usual price plus let's say 20% premium for import but the stuff I saw at Samsonite was about double the price it would set me back in the EU or the US. So no. I am not looking for a bargain. Just something that will last if I am to pay 300+ USD on it.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 5:43 pmOP - you titled the thread as where to buy a legit suitcase. What you are really asking is where can I buy an international high brand suitcase for cheap. Preferably at or below what they normally cost elsewhere in the world.aem wrote:So you think the stuff they sell at Central Mall/Travel Hub is not legit? The short answer is, you can’t.
The Kingdom of Wonder does not manufacture high end suitcases. Anything not locally produced has an importation cost and a import tax on top of that. It’s also not a big distribution hub like Thailand or Hong Kong so no volume pricing.
Please correct me if I’m mistaken.
And yes, I’ve combed through the above places named Russian, Central, etc., when my suitcase was abused beyond redemption by the airline baggage gorillas.

OP - tax and tariff is about 20% for Cambodia.
https://www.easyship.com/duties-and-ta ... r/cambodia
This doesn’t include shipping the individual item to Cambodia.
Doesn’t include renting the storefront to buy the suitcase from, nor the staff.
How is 20% above the price in let’s say, the US reasonable?
That’s selling at a serious loss in the Kingdom of Wonder.
If you’re looking for the lowest price, have you tried just buying it from CamboQuick?
$300 is not necessarily the same as quality and built to last.
A Rimowa suitcase is built to last, high quality, and costs $1,300 plus $23 shipping, for the US.
I think Yong has 2 of them.

Yeah, get one of the previously drugged stuffed cases seized by customs. And get every sniffer dog in every airport you travel through doing back flips when you walk past.Ghostwriter wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 1:39 am The Customs should have a few empty ones, i wonder where the contenant of the shit they find when searching goes....Maybe they supply the second-hand market somewhere...
"No officer, you don't understand, it was previously used by a drug smuggler..."
