Spoke with these guys yesterday. They have just changed their system, so for the next 2 weeks it will take 2 days to get results.

Really? Appreciate the update.
Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
I am curious - when people come to Cambodia they do the test and then a few get the certificate from their gp.
You don't need a cert to leave Cambodia. Is it possible to do the same thing?
Get a test from any place on cambodia and then get a doctor to write the certificate?
That should work, correct??

Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
Sorry, I mean you could do this to get the correct certificate when travelling to another country.
It would work, wouldn't it?

I'm staring at the box of tests now FD. Labelled "Covid-19 Self Test (Rapid Antigen Test). It's the only test I have ever taken, and definitely includes a gag-inducing swab of the nose and throat.Freightdog wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 2:55 pmIs it?Yerg wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 11:32 amRapid antigen test is the swab of throat and nose. I'm taking twice weekly for work. They only tell you if you're positive or negative, they won't tell you if you've already had it.
I have to have a PCR test for entry as a passenger into Belgium. Rapid antigen test is not accepted.
Once I'm in Belgium, I'm classified as crew, and exempted in most cases. Except in Belgium, if I loiter for more than 48hrs, they reclassify you as a high risk tourist*, and start demanding 10days quarantine plus release PCR tests.
In the UK, we can have lateral flow tests...
This then ends up as what appears to be an ever shifting matrix of- for country A, PCR is valid but Rapid Antigen and Lateral flow ARE NOT, etc.
It's a wonder the bureaucracy hasn't killed off whatever evaded COVID precautions.
*a bureaucratic anomaly

Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
I only ask as I’ve never had one, but understood it was the same sample process, but was erroneously informed it’s a single swab, not dual. Then the Belgies started doing PCR with a single swab, not a dual, and the whole thing has become something of a bureaucratic box ticking exercise, rather than a real process for protection.
I thought I’d reached my cynicism saturation point a while back, but they keep digging deeper.

Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?
Many of the the airlines flying from Cambodia state "PCR Test conducted at a Cambodian Ministry of Health approved testing facility", and many list the accepted testing facilities. Why would you want to make things more difficult by getting a test somewhere randomly, then going to a GP to get a certificate? There are approved testing facilities in most major towns which issue the necessary Medical Cert & lab report for travel, and 3 in PP, keep it simple, get tested at the approved and proven testing facilities, and avoid disappointment.Nav wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 11:29 pm I am curious - when people come to Cambodia they do the test and then a few get the certificate from their gp.

Just wanted to give my personal experience as I am back in NYC unfortunately..
i went w/ option b]OPTION 2: Institut Pasteur du Cambodge[/b]
I was concerned and the communication was good via email and phone to confirm that I can take test day before and get results same day as my flight.
Both taking the test in the morning and getting results the next morning went very smooth. The total cost was $80
I took my test on Saturday morning Sept. 11th and got results back early on Sunday September 12th.
thanks so much @PSD-Kiwi and @Doc67
Manhattan keeps on making it, Brooklyn keeps on taking it
Re: Swab test before leaving Cambodia?

I'm standing up, so I must be straight.
