Nominations Open for "Cambodia's Model Citizen" and $10K Prize
Do we have any nominations for an amazing citizen ? Just between ourselves.

Cambodia’s “model citizen” stands to win $10,000
The search is on for Cambodia’s model citizen – and the person selected will win $10,000.
Over the next four months, Smart Axiata aims to find the person who has done the most for their country, neighbour, village or province. The initiative, entitled the Smart Good Citizen Award, is part of the company’s Rise Together campaign.
The campaign is intended to promote unity among Cambodians throughout the country. It consists of a dedicated campaign video, a specially created theme song featuring Pleng artists, various corporate social responsibility activities and the Smart Good Citizen Award, which aims to recognize Cambodians whose heart is in the right place.
Chief Executive Officer of Smart Axiata Thomas Hundt said: “With Cambodia facing several challenges, we at Smart want to remind Cambodians that togetherness and unity are the keys to overcoming today’s obstacles. To encourage these, we have created the Smart Good Citizen Award to find the country’s model citizen.”
Smart Axiata is asking people to nominate the person who has done the best deed for their friends, neighbours, villagers or fellow Cambodians.
“At Smart Axiata, we are always amazed at the kindness of Cambodians,” Hundt added. “It is this quality that we want to highlight and promote to help us all overcome any challenges that we may face together.”
As organisers of the award, Smart Axiata expects thousands of Cambodians to nominate someone who has done a good deed. Those wanting to take part are asked to visit Smart Axiata’s Facebook page for information on nomination details. Nominators are only allowed to name one person and must provide the contact details of the nominee as well as a brief description of the deed for which the person has been nominated.

Interesting choice of words.
Headline is ‘Model Citizen’.
In the body says amazing Cambodians.
Sounds like the PRC journalist training has paid off.

Well that's an easy one! Allow me to nominate none other than the hero of Covid-19, the inspirational, the greatest of the great, prime minister.

Just to be clear, this isn’t to be confused with the CEO “Top Bloke” awards, right?
Nominations are open for those until the end of the year?

Good point.
CEO nominations for "model Cambodian citizen 2020" will be open to nominate Cambodian citizens who have been useful, added something positive to Cambodian society, and/or are interesting people. (Reasonably serious.)
"Top Bloke" nominations would be for your opinions on Cambodian expats who have made the CEO news pages this year. (Can be anything and not serious.)
It's up to you CEO forum members. Nominations for the two categories are now open until 31 December 2020.

It would be funny if they picked some Okhna who's been given state land or something.

Re: Nominations Open for "Cambodia's Model Citizen" and $10K Prize
I nominate Catherine V Harry as "Cambodia's model citizen" for her sex education lessons on social media. Cambodians are not big on sex ed, but Cath's blog, A Dose of Cath, is full of information about sex and relationships that nobody else talks about - for young people, guys and girls. She's a feminist, but there's a lot of useful tips for the guys too.
Her message is: Don't be ashamed, be curious, let's talk about it. I really like what she does.
Lol, this is probably not exactly what they had in mind for the "model citizen", but this is the CEO vote, right ?
As for the expat nomination, I am reserving my vote in case something really juicy happens over Xmas.
