Drunk Husband Chases Wife with a Knife, and Burns Down the Kitchen

Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey Province): A drunk man who attacked his wife was arrested by police for domestic violence on December 10, 2020 at Preah Ontoung village, Poi Jar commune, Phnom Srok, Banteay Meanchey province.
Mr. Yot Sophal, the district police officer of Phnom Srok district, said that according to the complaint from the victim, Prem Bout, a 48-year-old woman, her husband, Phnom Srok, a 50-year-old man, came home drunk, and caused family issues, and argued violently until he pulled a knife on her and chased her from her home.
Unexpectedly, the husband has broken the water jars, hit the plates, pot, and burned down 80 % of the kitchen, clothes, plates, water tanks, and lots of materials.

Otherwise, the wife said that this drunk husband is always mean and jealous of her, saying that she has a lover, and she does not cook his rice.
The police inspector confirmed the woman's story after looking at the evidence at the scene and questioning the husband. When the suspect was confronted by police, he confessed that he really chased his wife and burned down the kitchen.

Based on the confession, the wife requested the police to get rid of the husband by the law, so the criminal police force sent the man to be detained at the police post.

It must be very difficult to live in such a humble abode eking out a living in the middle of nowhere and then have your meager possessions smashed and your shelter set alight. They'll probably make up and be back together by next week.
