"Please Come Home"; Abandoned Husband Seeks Missing Wife

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): On the night of December 2, 2020, at the Choam Chao III Police Station, Por Sen Chey District, Phnom Penh, a male construction worker came to complain to the authorities and the media to help find his wife.
She left home over a month ago with her 6-month-old baby, after the couple had a fight, leaving her husband with their two daughters. The husband is named Chap Socheat, 38 years old, occupation: construction worker, his hometown is in Svay Rieng province. His wife, Tang Mimi, alias Ahong, 29, is a homemaker and was born in Phnom Penh as an orphan.

According to the husband, he and his wife have been living together for 11 years. They have three children, two young daughters and a 6-month-old son.

The husband stated that his wife was at home taking care of the children, but the day before his wife ran away from home, he saw her drinking with her girlfriends, then he advised her many times not to drink, but the wife did not listen and was rude to him. He was so angry that he could not resist and he slapped her. Then his angry wife locked the room and did not let him enter the house for one night.

The next morning, the husband went to work on a construction site as usual, not realizing that his wife was so angry with him. Later that day when he returned home, he found that his wife had run away with the baby, leaving the two girls behind.

The husband continued that his wife ran away from him for more than a month now, so he went to complain to the authorities to help search for his wife, because he can not go to work as there is no one to look after his two young daughters, and this has made his life miserable.

Finally, the husband asked his wife to return home because the two daughters miss their mother very much. He will correct himself for what he has done to his wife and will not be angry with her anymore. He begs her to come home to help look after the children so he can go to work to support the family.

Well, this is a sad story. Of course we dont know the other side of it..

Don't know what their family situation is but usually/often there is immediate family to help take care of the kids while he goes to work. The fact that he resorted to go to the police suggests otherwise tho..

You are right, usually there is family to take care of kids, but they say that the wife is an orphan, and the husband is a construction worker from the provinces, so he may not have family close by to help with the child care.
Maybe the husband is a no-good, or not, but at least he is looking after his kids. :thumb:

So, the wife kicks the husband out over-night. Then the next day she leaves the two children and takes the baby? Poor kids... if they knew what was happening they must have been extremely distraught.

Then there's the fact the husband was angry with his wife for drinking with her friends and this would seem to be a frequent event as he has "advised her many times not to drink" so I am guessing she'll turn up in a bar or KTV somewhere sooner or later. And she took just the baby as it would be easier to find someone to care for a baby than for a baby + 2 much older siblings.

I wonder if that was the first and only time?

Yeah, I can't help feeling that wasn't an isolated event.

If she is contemplating going back, she should quit while she is ahead. He has shown contrition by the act of presenting himself as being pathetic and desperate and thoroughly humbled.

But, a month is quite a while. Maybe she is already shacked up with someone else and is intent on avoiding him forever. Being an orphan cuts out the easy route to tracking her down.

These kids are ones that really could use an orphanage, there’s plenty of them so should try to get them admitted.

Yeah, always hard to know the truth when there is a "he said, she said" problem. I'm slightly on the side of the husband because he recognized his wrong-doing, and I hope they sort it out between themselves for the sake of the the two daughters.

The photos just look folded to me. Not that anything in this thread, except wishing well for all involved, is anything but baseless speculation.

Hope it works out for them all. Something about this story makes me very sad, despite it being less tragic than the usual grim reaper shit.
