Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): The Hornbill is a rare bird which is almost endangered in Cambodia. So it was an unusual and wonderful surprise when, on December 1, 2020, a flock of hornbills showed up at the campus of Phumen Phnom Penh university on the roof of the CJCC building.

Two different species I think. Neither normally seen in urban areas. Some Okhna's flock has escaped.

Yeah, they look totally bewildered.

And the other suspects which I have ruled out now. Just look at the tails if you can't get into beaks etc. 8)

Oriental Pied Hornbill:

And Tickell's Brown Hornbill :

Considered Near Threatened - Rarely occurs in Cambodia.

The rare Ticklells Brown Hornbill is closely related to the australian Laughing Kookaburra.

Yes I do like them, catchy tunes. Could do without the fruity hairdos though.

Four of them just flew up Riverside. Amazing wingspan. Sorry, too quick for photos.
