We've been told James Whitlow is a free man now. He managed to smooth talk his way out of this, blaming it all on the Argentinian, Daniel.

Looks like Daniel is wanted for other things crimes as well, or this minimart staff is just super excited to see him:

Is that "free" as in released without charge, or released on bail awaiting a trial?

Previous poster said she was also released. To be fair she didn't seem to be very hands on in the scam so this is less of a surprise.

Sounds quite plausible given the circumstances of the crime. He would have portrayed his actions as simply "Helping a friend"... He most likely ran the line that he had no idea what his friend was doing and that he was just driving him to the hotel as his friend needed to meet someone. GIven it was Daniel that met the phone seller and "ran off" with his phones. A bit of fast talking and throwing your mate under the bus and you're home free tbh.

If that was the smile mart on the junction of northbridge and 2004, i actually told the staff he had been arrested and they should contact the police. The guy in the shop just said they dont do anything about the people in the pictures, they put them up in the hope that the people dont return.
