'We will be the enemy': China issues stunning threat to Australia

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

'We will be the enemy': China issues stunning threat to Australia

https://au.news.yahoo.com/china-issues- ... 35362.html
China has once again ramped up its warning to Australia, stressing the escalating feud between the two countries will only result in an “angry” China becoming “the enemy”.

Australia has responded by reiterating the ball is in China’s court when it comes to repairing ties, yet Beijing is insistent the relationship is to be salvaged by Canberra by “correcting their mistakes”.

In an increasingly tense relationship, Beijing once again appears to be honing in on the Morrison government following the US election which has cast doubt over Canberra’s position as an ally to an aggressive stance on China.

A 14-point dossier, not too dissimilar to a list of grievances Chinese state media issued in July, was handed to Nine Newspapers by an unnamed Chinese diplomat late on Tuesday.

“China is angry,” a government official told a Nine reporter in Canberra.

“If you make China the enemy, China will be the enemy.”

Or, you will do what, China? Attack? Go for it. See what happens.

It’s only stunning that it got out, unfiltered, to Australia.

This is what the entire PRC believes, from the leadership, to the military, to the average person on the street, to all the exchange students all over the world.

I hope more of these views come out for all the world to see.

Maybe other nations would be better disposed to them if they would stop stealing IP, organ harvesting, and practicing genocide.

I’m sure nothing so crude. Australia owes China billions of dollars. That could be called in. China has and can cancel billions of dollars in iron ore and other imports from Australia.
It can forbid the millions of Chinese tourists from visiting Australia. Likewise the hundreds of thousands of high-paying Chinese students attending Australian universities.
All this would financially cripple Australia for many years.

I think Felgerkarb was saying attack as in a physical attack. That’s not Chinas thing. As you say a financial attack would be crippling for Australia but not in Chinas interest. So catch 22.
Don’t listen to Chinese whispers.

They need that iron ore and LNG.
Australia could just default on the debt and nationalize Chinese investments.

There aren't any now.

Then when Australia defaults on the debt, the Chinese can invade.

I would suggest they land 100 million troops on the north west and they can start walking in a south-easterly direction. Once that lot perishes, they can send 100M more. It should be over in no time.

Yes, they are the enemy. Australia is tightly allied to the opposing superpower. This isn't a threat, it's just a statement that both countries know, framed in bully speech to try to intimidate Canberra into doing what Beijing wants because Beijing can't do anything else right now. Last straw, typical, and very tired old CCP tactics. Nothing to worry about, keep pushing forward Aussies.
