Dead Bank Employee Presumed to be Hit and Run Victim
Cambodia News, (Svay Rieng): At 1:10 pm on November 15, 2020, there was a surprise when some people found the body of a man lying near a motorbike at the side of National Road No. 1 in front of a resident's house in Banteay village, Kandieng Reay commune, Svay Teap district, Svay Rieng province.
The victim has been identified as Suth Thuok, a 22-year-old male employee of a bank who lived in the village Kdei Sla, Svay Ya Commune, Svay Chrum District, Svay Rieng Province; he has been missing since 8:30 pm on November 11, 2020.
According to the authorities, before the incident, there were people who smelled something bad, and when they went to look for it, they found a swollen body near a motorcycle that was damaged in a suspected accident. They asked the local authorities to come down and examine the body at the scene.
The family, who have had no contact with their son since the night of November 11, also suspected that he was the victim of an road accident and searched for him for days, but they could not find him. Finally, on 15 November, the relatives received news from the police, and they came to identify their child.
After examining the body, the authorities concluded that the victim had a traffic accident five days ago, and no one knew about it because the other driver did not stop, and the motorbike and the body were in some bushes.
The body of the victim has now been handed over to the family for traditional rites. RIP.
