This is the key issue here, she is under age and her pregnancy confirms the boyfriend has been doing the deed. He should be arrested and prosecuted for that. The abuse is an aggravating factor so no bail, straight to jail.

It is higher for barangs with khmers but i dont know how it works if he is chineese. Maybe hes even a citizen?

Its fraud upon but not illegal to have sex with 15+ year olds in most western countries so why straight to jail? I think that law is to protect underage girls from beeing used for sex by tourists but exactly were is the line drawn? I dont know.

Yeah, I thought it was higher for barangs too. I heard anecdotally 18 some time ago but don't know for sure.

Update: Khmer news from another source says that the victim is 17-years-old.
Whatever her age, the report confirms that the victim is a young woman who is three months pregnant, and was badly beaten about the head and face, and that she was unconscious when she was found in the condo by a friend or friends and taken to a nearby clinic.
There is still no further news on the Chinese boyfriend tonight.
