I have ABA visa and master, both require to enter a pin at any shop.Bubble T wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 12:14 pmI'm not aware of any debit cards here that require you to enter a pin when you make a purchase. I have a regular Acleda visa card and I just have to sign when the receipt comes out of the card machine. I've only ever had to enter my PIN at ATMs.cambo swa wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 11:34 pm I am sorry, maybe I missed something in that description of the crime, but how does one use someone else's debit card without knowing the PIN? There are 10,000 permutations of a 4-digit PIN. Most debit cards shut down for 24 hours after 3 wrong tries at the PIN. Just asking?

I have been asked to enter the PIN and sign. Also have been asked just to sign, (in Luckys I think) but that was a long time ago.Chuck Borris wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 1:51 pmI have ABA visa and master, both require to enter a pin at any shop.Bubble T wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 12:14 pmI'm not aware of any debit cards here that require you to enter a pin when you make a purchase. I have ABA and never even carry my card. E-cash worlks for everyday cash needs. and the app also has QR code pay facility which works in may places.
Their new contactless card is one I will avoid for as long as possible.

It is possible to disable the contactless feature. The technology (Radio Frequency Identification - RFID) is accomplished by a thin wire antenna that loops around the card and get very close to the edges. A well placed cut will scupper it. Cutting a small (4mm) incision with nail clippers on the bottom edge should sever the wire.srey.maos wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 3:14 pm https://www.ababank.com/en/aba-news/go- ... -for-free/
Standard issue now I believe

Your phone flashlight, turned up to the max, will reveal where on your card the wires run at the bottom. I tried it on my card and it works fine.
