Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On November 11, 2020, at 12 pm, a 48-year-old Finnish man, TOMMI JUNANI VIKKULA, was found dead in room no.101 at the Bamboo House guesthouse, street 172, Sangkat Chey Chumneas, Khan Cheay Chumneas, Khan Don Penh, Phnom Penh.

According to a witness named Hok Sithorn, a 53-year-old guesthouse manager, on October 21, 2020, at 10 am, the victim came to stay at the guesthouse and paid 10 USD per night. He paid for his stay at the guesthouse weekly. The victim usually came to breakfast at 9:30 am and returned to the guesthouse at 8 pm. On November 11, 2020, at 11:50 am, a woman named Sos Chantha, 53 years old, a cleaner, knocked on the victim's room many times, but there was no reply. So, she decided to unlock the door and saw the victim was lying on the bed. She told the guesthouse manager to help to wake up the victim. Then, they realized that the victim was already dead. They reported this to the police immediately.

After getting the information, the local police reported to the prosecutor. They collaborated with the Scientific-Technical police, the criminal police, the investigation and procedure department (Immigration Dept), and the autopsist to conduct a post mortem examination at the scene.

After the examination, the police team and Dr. Norng Sovannaroth concluded that the victim died of a heart attack caused by a drug named morphine. The police took the urine from the victim's body for a test and found that it tested positive for morphine. The body was taken to keep at Steung Meanchey pagoda.
RIP and condolences to friends and family.

Relatively expensive, obtainable from pharmacies.

Any opiate will usually show up as positive on those instant tests,
Heroin,
codeine,
MST's
Palphium,
diconal etc
Doubt if cardiac biomarker tests are ever carried out, only a guess maybe they are but never hear of it

Saw this guy about a month ago while at TheVine. He was collecting cans and asking for cash. He was not looking healthy at all. I assume he OD’d on H, do they do any real blood screening here for foreigners or the local population. Or might there have been paraphernalia that was found on the scene? I know those 5 minute drug test kits mostly just say what the active compound is that’s been detected ie. THC, COC, OPI, AMP, MET, MDMA. There’s obviously a few substances that can fall under each category.
