Preparing for a Cambodian Winter

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Fait accompli...
Her first response was to buy plastic super high heel pumps so her feet wouldn’t touch the cold ground. I told her to give those uncomfortable, dangerous slippers to her fashionable sister.

Temperature is only that low near midnight when the flight arrives. Otherwise 17 degrees C during the day.

Plus she gets a reason to use these clothes she bought for Taiwan (subtropical country), where she was preparing for low temperatures of 16 degrees C.

A former colleague of mine is married a girl from Cuba and they live in Scandinavia. His mother in-law came to visit with them in the autumn, on leaving she swore that she would rather go to prison than to go back to such a cold country. Lord knows what she would have thought of the winter there.

As Cambodia braces itself for the upcoming cold snap – which can see temperatures drop down to a bone chilling 15°C – grateful soldiers yesterday received an allocation of winter jackets.

On the afternoon of October 18, 2022, at 16:00 on October 17, 2022 at the Kampot Provincial Gendarmerie Command, Brigadier General Chap Sotheavuth, Kampot Provincial Gendarmerie Commander, presided over a Winter Jacket Distribution Ceremony.

It just goes to show they have nothing better to do apart from lounge about drinking, shooting their guns in the air (or the odd wife or girlfriend in the head) and pose for ceremonial Facebook fodder.

That's a timely reminder that I should pack some winter clothes for my next trip.

15 degrees is a nice summer day here in Norway. Minus 15 degrees is a normal winter night.

During my army days we slept outside in tents in minus 40 degrees for several days. And yes, You will need a good winter jacket for that.

Does that mean the quartermaster is out of a job, or is he still in his office, sleeping one off, and otherwise ambivalent about the changing seasons?
UnInteresting side note- the non uniform shade of uniform greens.

One wonders idly how many SUVs were mobilised to get every important person to this parade.
