Unsupervised Child Drowns in Kratie Village Pond

Cambodia News, (Kratie): This morning, at around 9am, on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, a child drowned in a pond at the back of a house in Chronol village, Thmey commune, Chit Borey district, Kratie province.

Neng Tharoth, 11 years old, was left in the care of his grandfather while the parents went to work in the fields today. At 9 am, the kid asked his grandfather if he could go and play by the pond behind the house; unfortunately, he was later found drowned.

After the incident, local authorities went to examine the body of the victim and confirmed that the boy died from drowning in the pond and handed over the body to the family for the traditional ceremony. RIP.
