Nigerian Paid Traffic Cops with Fake US$100
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On November 9, 2020, at 10:40 am, the traffic police arrested a Nigerian man for paying his traffic fine with fake money at Chamkar Dong bridge traffic light. He was sent to Khan Dongkor police station.
While the traffic police were standing by at Chamkar Dong bridge traffic light, the Nigerian man drove his Prius car through a red light on street 371 and turned on to street 217 to Chamkar Dong road. He was detained and fined by the traffic police.
The Nigerian man tried to pay the fine with a 100 USD note, but the police had no change, so they took the bank note to get it changed into smaller money at two money changers. They both told the police that it was fake money and they would not accept it.
So then, the police returned the fake bank note to the Nigerian man, who suddenly ripped it up and threw it away in front of the police, saying that he would not pay the fine. He was sent to Khan Dongkor police station for questioning, and charged with trafficking fake money.

now that's a good one. It must have been an excellent fake to get past the cops in the first place.

I thought the new anti corruption rules were that there was to be no more paying your fine on the spot.
But that you were supposed to be issued a ticket and then you paid your fine somewhere else?
So the police trying to scam some extra dosh get scammed?
How about we submit this entire article to the anti-corruption brigade HQ on Norodom.
