We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. No mention of any arrest OR ANY seizure.

Two days later...

On November 3, 2020, the police reported that a 35-year-old man has been arrested with over 7 and a half kilos of the drug methamphetamine (a total of 7, 622 grams), which was wrapped as Chinese tea to deter suspicion.

One arrest and one seizure of a 35 year old (no name mentioned nor the address though).

Update 12 August 2022

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): On August 11, 2020,[Really?] the judge of the First Court of Phnom Penh, Mr. Ket Socheat, announced that drug trafficker Chea Chandara has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, and fined 25M riels to be paid to the state budget. He was convicted of illegal trading, storing and transporting 7.622kgs of methamphetamine

Suddenly the house was the place found with the drugs in on the 1st November, not with the 35 year old on the 3rd November.

Where is the 35 year old arrested on the 3rd November with the drugs?

Maybe the 23 year old Mr Chea Chandara went to court to give evidence against the 35 year old boss, only to find that the boss was nowhere to be seen and and Mr Chandara found himself being the defendant and promptly convicted.

A new version of the switcheroo.

^^ There seems to be a problem with the translation of numbers - according to the KT, the same man is 27.

20 year sentence for Meth man
Cambodia today gave a graphic warning of the dangers of trafficking in methamphetamine, when Phnom Penh court sentenced a man to 20 years in jail for trafficking in the deadly drug.

On August 11, 2020, the judge of the first court trial in Phnom Penh, Mr. Ket Socheat, the head of the council, passed sentence on Chea Chandara, a 27-year-old Khmer male.
