Do you work? Got a lurk? Done and dusted?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Do you work? Got a lurk? Done and dusted?

Post by Kung-fu Hillbilly »

So are you working in Cambodia, or do you have a little side lurk? Maybe you're looking for work. Or perhaps you're kicking back enjoying a rather splendid life doing nix?

Why not tell us all as we're all beside ourselves with curiosity - really!

Well??

Work full time in UK and Europe. Would normally get back to Cambodia alternating 3weeks on, 3 off. Except since March. Could really use something a little closer to home, but I can’t see that happening anytime soon.

Running my business full time. Although I could retire on the income I have from other sources, I still feel way too young and, more importantly, I am a materialistic money-oriented SOB. Only here at the moment because of the Benjamins.
Once I do retire, I would perhaps spend some time here but Cambodia wouldn’t be my base.

Back on track with a 9 month professional training about Import / Export, as i see only this kind of job allowing me enough free time for family and putting my languages skills to a better use, in my regional working context. The training is fully state-paid, and i get 85 % of my previous salary for the time it goes.
I'm morphing into a paperwork clerk, somehow. Will do my best to join a commercial team after that, so i can extend my paygrade.
No better plans for now.
Oh, and we're in a 6 weeks (minimum) 21h to 6h curfiew.

Spent my working life creating a passive income more than enough for me to live forever, but hardly enough for these greedy khmer girls

For some reason I thought many of the CEO membership were working in the KOW - that doesn't appear to be the case at all - at least as it stands at the minute. It seems half of you are actually a bunch of shiftless old foreigners content with a life of indolence and leisure.

Haven't worked since last year.

May or may not work this year.

Had cunning plan to stop until April or May, didn't know covid was coming, got sideswiped by 2020.

I have a lot of friends who are US veterans. However I don't remember any of them ever mentioning bone-spurs Donald doing anything about military pensions. In fact there are reports that military pension funds were tapped to build the border wall. Let that sink in. 8-)

Thank you for putting my life in KoW so eloquently. Please add happy and contented old fart who enjoys life as a ER visa holder.
