Cambodia News, Siem Reap: Pictures shown on social media of people fighting during the Kathin procession in Sot Nikum district, Siem Reap province, have outraged and disgusted the Cambodian public. Photos and a video show young men chasing and beating each other during the religious parade.

Moch Sokphea's Facebook account, described: So shocking! Man gets bleeding head during the Kathin procession at Wat Trabek Ek Rainsy, Sot Nikum district, Siem Reap province!

After seeing this awful display, the public have requested that the authorities arrest the bad kids immediately, and punish them severely in a way so they are educated not to behave in such a manner again.

What would cause such an outbreak of violence, and was there no police presence at yet another large gathering of religious festivities. Covid 19 seems to be forgotten at such times, I don't recall any masks worn by participators or that of distancing, looks like the whole country has immunity from the deadly virus.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

obviously no one who has posted on this thread so far has any Khmer connections.
There is always a reason for such things.
If it was two rival gangs, then they would probably be fighting over drug dealing territory.
That's a big reason in Thailand among working class youth.
When I need advice about life, I just check in here.
