Man Attempts Suicide by Jumping into Flood Waters

Cambodia News, Battambang Province: At 11:55am on October 13, 2020, while the water was rising, a man jumped from a concrete bridge into the river, and was washed downstream where he grabbed on to a tree, and fortunately was rescued in time by a joint intervention force.

This incident occured in front of the provincial hall in Svay Por, Battambang, and the jumper has been identified as Chan Rattanak, alias Chen, 32, living in Phnom Penh.

Prior to the incident, the victim decided to end his life, so he drank two cans of beer and then jumped into the water from the stone bridge. The victim said that the reason he jumped into the water to attempt suicide was because he was upset with his new wife running around, (and who actually left him), while he was in prison, and since he only just got out of prison last month, he was still very upset.

Yes, it's sadly melodramatic (and other people risked their lives to save him.) I wonder what brand of beer he chose to drink before making his final gesture.
