FBI Opens Office in Cambodia

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I've only met a few myself, they are hugely outnumbered by Aussies and Brits. There was Eric, the first western beggar I ever met, supposedly at the bottom of the Boueng Kak "lake" now. Then Danny, a nice enough guy but with a serious drug problem, he was in jail a couple of times here but has since died. And Jason Baumbach, who seemed normal enough but was jailed in 2008 for sexual relations with a 13 year old girl. I believe they got married since. His family support the relationship.

FBI opening office in Cambodia amid tense ties between two nations
By Jeff Mordock - The Washington Times - Tuesday, October 13, 2020

The FBI will open an office in Cambodia to track down fugitive American criminals as well as combat human trafficking and money laundering, a bureau spokesperson said Tuesday.

The office will be at the headquarters of Cambodia’s national police and the two agencies will work together on a case-by-case basis, the spokesperson said.

“Responsible law enforcement cooperation is an important part of our bilateral relationship. This task force will enhance the commitment to support the rule of law in Cambodia and will help protect the Cambodian people,” the spokesperson said in a statement to The Washington Times.

Of course, the WP article states: "It is not clear when the office will be established". So not news. The FBI has always been in the US Embassy in PP. And they read CEO every day.

The FBI always struck me as more of a k440 kind of group.

I forgot about Grant Helling, I didn't know him well but he seemed okay and came across as quite smooth. Then he got into ice, murdered his Vietnamese girlfriend, hid the body under the bed, then set the house on fire, broke his leg trying to escape and finally killed himself when he was sentenced to 10 years. He would have been out by now. :?

Edit: Forgot about that psycho Ken Wilcox too, but just saw him around a bit and never felt like talking to him.

BTW many if not most of my better friends here are American, not trying to bash the nation or anything... 8-)

Who else but a self-important pedo would dress like that Jason Baumbach jibroni? He's dressed like the pedophile version of Neo from the Matrix
