7Kg Snake Found and Captured in Sihanoukville Village

Cambodia News, Sihanoukville: On 11 October 2020, some villagers caught a snake weighing 7 kg, by their house at Prek Tal village, Prey Veng district in Sihanoukville province. The two men captured the snake, put it in a bag, and then gave it to the local authorities to release into the natural forest.

I fully expected the story to conclude by saying the snake was cooked & eaten

Maybe it wasn't an edible snake ?

Almost all snakes are edible. Cambodia has one or two that are poisonous and venomous, or so my neighbor tells me.

Pythons get special treatment here, most other species get the chop and pot.
