After receiving the complaint, Major General Chuon Narin, the provincial police commissioner, ordered the specialized force of the police to investigate. At 2 pm on the same day, the police cracked down and arrested two suspects, one named Izmeuskii Ilia, a 41-year-old Russian man without a passport, and Mamebov Ruslan, a 42-year-old man from Turkey, also without a passport. They were both living in a rented house in Borey BS, Village 5, Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk Province, and were both tested for drugs because police found marijuana on the premises.

In front of the police, the Russian suspect, Izmeuskii Ilia, confessed that he had been living in Sihanoukville since 2016 until today, but has no passport and no more visa.
At 1:40 am on September 25, 2020, he was riding his motorcycle alone when he saw a house likely to be able to steal a motorcycle, so he stopped outside the fence. The Russian man then walked in and stole an Airblade motorcycle that the owner had left in front of her house, and drove back to his home in BS Borey, Village 5, Sangkat 4. Then he called a tuktuk to go back to the house. He then stole another motorcycle and took it to Mamebov Ruslan's rented room.

After stealing two motorcycles, he returned to get his motorcycle that he had left in front of the victim's house and took it to the accommodation in Borey BS. The suspect said that the stolen motorcycle was then spray-painted with white paint to deceive the motorcycle owner. It was all ready to sell, when suddenly in the afternoon of the same day, the police arrested both men.

The two suspects and the exhibits, along with several other arrests, are being processed by the Serious Crime Police. The case to be sent to the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court according to the procedure.
