Hold your horses. Two casinos doesn't make Dara Sakor the new Macau.Dara Sakor seems set to be a future hub for tourism as Century Entertainment International Holdings will be the second casino to relocate there, joining the Dara Sakor Seashore Resort Casino.

Re: Sihanoukville as it is now
The road in that artist's impression seems to be very narrow. (Is it an artist's impression or is that real?)
There looks like parking bays for half a dozen cars. The Chinese seem to have a strange idea of a beachside holiday.
Can someone with some Photoshop skills, add the traffic gridlock that will be the reality of that narrow lane.

The beach between Otres 1 & Otres 2 looked much better 5 years ago, than it does in the picture of how it will look after its been "improved"
Re: Sihanoukville as it is now
I asked myself the same question. But all the dirt and crud on the roadside, plus the blue and green thingies on the left shoulder seem to indicate a project in motion.Username Taken wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 3:43 amThe road in that artist's impression seems to be very narrow. Don't know what to think of the casino moves. What happens to all the empty Shitsville buildings if the Chinese playground moves to Dara Sakor? Another question: Are all those empties office space, hotel space or what?

Bird's nests!
"Cleaned bird’s nests, which could be sold for $1,500 last year, can now be sold for as much as $3,000." <<< And that was 2 years ago. Must be worth a fortune now.

No secret military base - so nothing to see here.
Nothing interesting anyway, we never did believe the chinese with all their grand plans of colonising 1/3 rd of the whole cambodian coastline, right here...
The secret military bases theories were so much more interesting and dramatic - and so easy to get all worked up about..

Re: Sihanoukville as it is now
Its all much better now than 10 years ago..this stretch of beach was a mud road where driving a bike into SHV was a dangerous task. And all them trees on the beachfront that have been cut down were producing a lot of leaves which where polluting the sand. And nobody misses the hundreds of super cheap rooms and restaurants serving 5$ all you can eat BBQ's and the many colourful bars where you could have an easy smoke after dinner.
Now you can drive your clean new LEXUS along the beach without getting dirty.
work is for people who cant find truffles

^^^ Please tell me that you're being sarcastic.
If it was sarcasm, then you forgot to mention the women selling bbq squid, and those long crabby things.

Re: Sihanoukville as it is now
One of the main problems with Sihanoukville now is that there’s no affordable place for a local to stay. Prices have gone through the roof and Sihanoukville has become a colony of the Chinese where most Cambodians can’t easily go. Not that there’s much left that anyone would want to visit.truffledog wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 5:21 pmIts all much better now than 10 years ago..this stretch of beach was a mud road where driving a bike into SHV was a dangerous task. Bad policy to let this happen.
