Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On September 23, 2020, at 4 pm, a 79-year-old Cambodian French woman, CATHERINE TRAN was found dead in a house in Sangkat Psar Chas, Khan Don Penh, Phnom Penh.

The deceased had apparently passed away some time ago. A witness named Choth Seagoeung, a 43-year-old woman, said that on September 10, 2020, at 1:21 pm, she called the victim three times, but there was no reply. On September 12, she tried to contact the victim twice and still no response. On September 14, she went to Kampong Cham for two days. When she returned, she went to question the victim's neighbor. They told her that they hadn't seen the old woman watering her flowers as usual.
On September 22, at 10 am, the friend of the victim reported to the police,asking for help. The local police went to the scene, opened the door and found that the woman had passed away. They reported the case to the prosecutor, who passed the case to the relevant authorities.
The victim's passport was returned to keep at the Ministry of Interior. The place was shut down temporarily, and the body was sent to the Khmer Soviet hospital. RIP.
